TITLE: NEVER (DENY IT) feat. Tiara Monet (@TiaraMonetQueen)

ARTIST OF THE WEEK : We Focus on HURRICANE CEASAR (@HurricaneCeasar)

ARTIST OF THE WEEK : We Focus on HURRICANE CEASAR (@HurricaneCeasar)

   HURRICANE CEASAR

So if you asked us who we think has a bright future, the first name wed probably give you is this guys'.  Its HURRICANE CEASAR ya bish!! *kendrick voice*. Anyway, we came across this artist a couple months ago and we've been liking his sound ever since. One thing about him is his passion. Like on that real tip, this dude is passionate about his music. They say it "speaks". We heard that voice. Tracks like "I KNOW" , "NUMB" , "GET OVER IT" , and not forgetting our personal favorite "GHOST", just make you take notice. Its almost like he's in his own little HurricaneCeasar World, ITS JUST HIM.And like every other artist that started from somewhere, he's got TRUE and LOYAL Fan's. We had the chance to interact with one such person on twitter and the response was amazing.

That's just the tip of the ice-burg, this guy is smart too. He always has the right answer(Somehow). He's been one of our BBM contacts for a minute now and when we officially "spoke" with him on a couple of issue here and there, here's what he had to say :

1. Who is Hurricane Ceasar?

Hurricane Ceasar is an escape for Jonathan a place for him to say all the things he wouldn't normally say in a conversation.

2. Why the name?

It's kind of a nickname that stuck. When I was young I was in this cypher where this dude called me the Ceasar of rap and from then it just was my name.

3. Who influenced your music career?

Many artists but in a specific way it would be B.I.G, Eminem, 50 cent, Jay Z, Drake and Snoop Dogg.

4. When did you start listening 2 Hip Hop?

I always have listened to hip hop but the first time I really took note of it I think I was 7 years old, I heard B.I.G's "Juicy" and I was hooked.

5. Do you feel hip hop has drastically changed over the years?

NOW PLAYING: @HurricaneCeasar - I KNOW

Yes it has, the beats, the lyrics, the flows all of it is different and to add to that Hip Hop isn't seen as just a wayward genre of music anymore but as a lifestyle, which just shows it has been a positive change.

6. What elements of the "Golden Age" of Hip Hop (early mid-80's to late-90's) would you like to see adopted by Hip Hop artists of today?

More story telling, its a rare thing these days for artists to take you on a trip, even if you're rapping about money make me feel like I'm there, that is something I wouldn't mind seeing in Hip Hop again.

7. Top 5 legendary Hip Hop artists?

In no particular order, Biggy, Nas, Jay Z, Eminem and Raekwon.

8. Internationally , which names are always on your playlist?

Kanye West, A$ap Rocky, Elle Varner, J Cole, Drake, Wale, Florence and The Machine, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar and just a little bit of 2 Chainz for those weird days.

9. If you had a choice, which of those do you feel you'd have a good time working with?

I would say J Cole because our styles are so different I would enjoy the mixture we would create.

10. To the local scene, which artists did you enjoy working with and on what projects?

I really enjoyed working with Bladen on a song called Exodus, he really pushed me to do something different from my norm. I also enjoyed work with Saego on songs for his upcoming mixtape "Ill Theory" and a group called Lyrical Homicide where I got my first real taste as a producer on their debut mixtape "Lights Out".

11. Which local kats would you recommend and why?

There's a few, off the bat I would recommend Saego, the music he makes has a party feel to it without it being dance music which is different from the current climate. Then there's Bladen who has a hard edge to his music which is always fun. Also Reason who has something special that I can't pin down as well as Kwesta and even though they're not local for me but I would suggest @boyrymer and @BarzNation good music that people can relate to coming from them.

NOW PLAYING: @HurricaneCeasar - Jo'Burg State Of Mind

12. Ghost was and still is a tough joint (our opinion). How was the atmosphere in th studio when you exported the final mix and had a listen?

To be honest, I was alone in studio when it was complete but I thought I had a lead single the minute it was done, what I didn't think was that people would love it the way they do.

13. Tell us abit about the track.(For those who don't know about it)

Ghost is a reflection track for me as I said I was alone in studio so I was more open to expressing myself which left me with a song where I explore my own feelings towards haters, love, money, music, fans and as the chorus asks where will I be at end of all of this.

14. You've been doing a great job on almost all the tracks we've heard from you. Do you think we'll be paying for an album from you?

If Ghost is anything to go by then yes, I think I have the ability to create music people will love and will pay to hear.

15. In conclusion, why should the people out there download and listen to your stuff and just how can they get a hold of you and your music?

Because I'm a passionate artist who isn't just in it for the money, I'm trying to make music for all the moments and memories in your life. People can get hold of me via my twitter account @HurricaneCeasar or on Facebook which is Jonathan H Ceasar. I usually offer my newest music on Facebook and Twitter or if you want my older music google Hurricane Ceasar

NOW PLAYING: Cake (Remix)

Its not often you come across such an artist. Like really, we know. For the artist of today its all about money, bad B***H'S, weed (even though most of these kats out here aint never had that real A-Grade)( Ni***z out here really smoking fried pumpkin  leaves) and just a whole bunch of irrelevant stuff. We wish Hurricane Ceasar  many years of success, more lyrics and most important of all, God's guidance and protection.

SO TILL THE NEXT TIME WE DELIVER SOME FRESH INDIE AFRICAN HIP HOP NEWS TO YOUR PHONE, COMPUTER, TABLET, E.T.C, STAY BLESS AND KEEP IT HIP HOP.

#WOHH [MAG44 Releases Visual to Hit Single "Me I Beat" ft. Easter Phiri ] WHAT "I (WE)" THINK!!!

WARNING! WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO INDULGE YOURSELF IN IS THE SOUL CREATIVE PROPERTY OF "I (WE)" AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH. IF YOU ARE NOT PLEASED WITH THE CONTENT YOU ARE ABOUT TO READ, BE SURE TO PUT IT IN WRITING (wordouthiphop@gmail.com) AND "I (WE)" WILL RESPOND TO YOUR QUERY A.S.A.P...

28/04/13 Jijue Album Launch sponsored by ZAMTEL.

OK...so im sure im probably going to look and sound wrong for this 1 but i just have to say this..you see, iv got love n respect for MAG44. Hes brought a whole new feel to the Zambian Gospel Hip Hop genre.same thing with POMPI, TIO etc..MAG44 has his album dropping on the 28th of April titled #JIJUE (Self Discovery) (y'all should cop that)..n im sure you all know his Hit Single "Me I Beat" by know?
*trick question*...i want to talk about the video though...sigh....i watched it the day it dropped and iv been watching it frequently since then..1stly coz its a GroundXero production. but 2ndly coz iv been trying to see just what the story behind it is..honestly, i feel it didn't even come close to defining the song...now don't bite my head off or anything like that,im NOT trying to bring u the whole "coz its gospel" argument, im just saying i don't think the video really told the story that the song itself told. The Chorus reads, "TAKE A GOOD LOOK INTO MY EYES, THESE ARE EYES OF A CHAMPION. GOD IS THE KING AND I HAVE BEEN KNIGHTED. HOW DARE YOU DEFY LAWS OF A CAPTAIN? EVERY KNEE BOWS LIKE INVOLUNTARY ACTION. LIFE IS A JOURNEY, JESUS IS THE PASSAGE. ALWAYS ROLL WITH CHRIST NEVER CHECKING ON THE MILEAGE  SO, WHEN THEY SAY THAT THE KINGDOM SUFFERS VIOLENCE MY REPLY IS..." (your probably way ahead of me by now)..now, according to MY understanding, this is somewhat, "motivation"...times bring even the strongest of men down. we tend to lose our faith and feel that all hope is lost.. the devil tries by all means to break us down. but at that moment, we need to tell him to look into our eyes so he can see that they belong to a champion who was made by, and is a servant of the King of Kings (Knight to his King)..how dare he (satan) bring you down when you were made for victory and prosperity? every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess...life is a journey and if we travel in the light then we are travelling with Jesus. when you journey with Christ you have nothing to worry about. So when you feel like the earth is crumbling down on you and all your strength and will is gone, remind your troubles that you, through Christ, are not one to mess with, YOU BEAT.............its that simple (to me atleast)..now lets get our focus back to the video..it looks like it was centered around a Gym. we have the boxing ring there, fans screaming and shouting (obviously having a jolly good time), Magg44 with Pompi, a couple "Gospel celebrity" appearance etc..splendid lighting by the way...but all i got from the video was them saying we should have a fighting spirit...*crickets*..i kinda liked the way they had the guys come into the ring with the black t-shirts with words on them. can any of you tell me what was written on there? after a couple re-runs,i came to my attention that the t- shirts read, "DISEASE" "GIRL CHILD ABUSE" or something like that..why couldn't i clearly see that??? it was part of the video but its was somewhat,"sidelined".i feel that could have given the video abit more meaning if this aspect was brought out clearly..now im not trying to come off like some big time Hollywood video director but i wasn't feeling the message. i couldnt understand the video..i was expecting somthing more motivational..i don't want to go on and blame GroundXero coz maybe it was Mag44's idea. what the heck, maybe it was GroundXero's idea. maybe its was the labels idea. maybe it was YOUR idea..maybe its a good idea and i just cant see.if so, in the auto-tuned words of the famous African-American "hip-hop" artist FUTURE, 'TURN ON THE LIGHTS!!" But on the track itself, 110% thumbs up.

Heres a couple scenes from the video.

FINAL WORDS:

Mag44 is a multi-talented gospel artist who im personally a fan of. Hes creativity is something that i feel is sure to take him far and i wish him nothing but the best in his career..The "Me I Beat" video though, to me, was a 25% MISS..the 75% goes to the track, Mag44, and the lighting used in the video..I hope the video to one of my all time favorite Mag44 tracks "Shipikisha Club" is going to be well though over and well executed..All in all, im expecting nothing but quality and awesomeness from the JIJUE Album.. I urge you all to buy the Album as soon as it drops. ALBUM LAUNCH - 28/04/13 - BARCLAYS SPORTS COMPLEX - 2PM-6PM - KR30..Check him out on twitter as well @thenameisMag44

WORD OUT HIP HOP EXCLUSIVE: LOCAL RAPPER "REC RYMER" CO-SIGNS TO SOUTH AFRICAN LABEL NIZ ENT. (EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW)

Wow okey!!!,local rapper,REC RYMER is set to sign with South African label NIZ ENT EMPIRE.Yes people its shocking to us too lol.We got #word about the deal a couple weeks back but it seems the whole thing was still in the negotiation stages.but now its official,REC RYMER will b signing with the label..with speculations of him "falling off",Rec Rymer told us "2013, we prove them hella wrong"..Impressive Ish! knowing that this kat went silent for a year with no song out,the streets thought yep "He Fell Off" guess some of us were wrong lol,and now he's got a hella fresh single out,off his latest project.The song is called "ATTENTION" ft. Omazin,The punchlines were on point,The hook was outstanding,The beat OMG!! (coughs) will just stop there lol. We spoke with him over the whole move and he gave us his reasons for it.heres how the conversation went;

Question
Everyone know you as the Zambian/SA rapper..how do u feel this deal is going to bridge the gap for u between both countries?
RR:
Umm cant you say African Artist? lol Well I got major support from both countries so im not sweating.yeah I know IL be up and down but these two countries are both my homes so I have to kill two birds with one stone hahaha...no..seriously.

Question
Last time we(the fans) checked, you were under local industry label E.F.I Media..Tell us about that?
RR:
I was with EFI Media for a while and im grateful for the hard work and music we made,I still fux with em,but I felt like I needed a breakthrough,a new way of expanding myself..things were moving slowly for me and I couldn't keep repeating the same mistakes again.I had to look at the opportunities I had for my music.

Question
We know you and Niz Ent Empire Boss @AshtonTHEArtist have known each other for some time now.Was this whole deal pre-meditated or is it something that just came to mind in both camps recently?
RR:
Me and Ashton are good friends,I truly respect the hustle he's on,S/O! He saw potential in me and supported me all the way.We both looking at this as a huge business investment and through God's grace I know success is upon us.He offered me an opportunity and I couldn't let it slide. So basically this offer popped up recently.

Question
The Commercial Break EP is something a number of people have been expecting from you for a minute.Just to clear the air, this move means its going to have to be released under the Niz Ent Empire label. What does this means for the unreleased tracks for th mixtape?are they being scraped and replaced with completely new content or can we expect some of your projects from E.F.I Media to make it on th mixtape?
RR:
Mos def the EFI tracks are on there,Klappa Heiz produced dope tracks for me.I have various producers on this tape,so its not just going to be produced under one label.Im not just doing it for myself but for the producers too, they need exposer and with great records that I have on the tape, yal are going to be blown away.

Question
The whole deal probably means ul have to be in south africa on a frequent basis.does this mean the zambian fans will begin to see less of u locally?
RR:
Well depends on how my schedules will be but im still around man.Traveling will be a hustle, depending on where my next show gon be.

Question
Will Rec Rymer be considered as a Zambian artist signed to a South African label or a South African artist signed to a South African label?
RR:
lol.

Question
Looking at Niz Ent Empire's track record, there pretty good with artist development.how do u plan on making that fact work for u?
RR:
Yeah man..they know  how to develop artists and right now i feel like im the next big thing on their Label. They have enough connections, locally and internationally.Media friendly and they are no strangers to that.I cant tell you my plans, its like giving away my method of development hahahah!! So let me just say..wait and see how far my music will go.

Question
Compared to the South African music industry,Zambia still has quite a distance to cover.what do u think the local industry needs to do to elevate itself n get the props that is truly deserved?
RR:
Looking at how the Zambian Music industry level is at, we are moving very slowly.Very few artists have organized management. We are not supporting each other to the best of our ability.Lacking originality and copying other countries styles wont make us go far.Corruption and piracy is killing our music.Ive seen so many albums in the streets being sold at a very cheap price like airtime,"I Swear I Would Sue Someone if i found my album in the streets next to airtime and accessories.
This is why very few kats are not registered to Zamcops etc.We are a very talented country in different ways.I pray in the near future we'll have the right direction.
Question
#WORD any last words for the people out there, fans,Artists,?.
RR:
Nothing is impossible without the almighty "JESUS CHRIST" I wish every artist out there the best.Work harder, one day it will pay off.Keep your head up high,be original and stay focused.Thank you to all my fans who stuck by me,till now.Keep supporting.
Respect and Love #RR

There you have it people!!! Congratulations once again Rec Rymer! Check him out on the NIZ ENT Website. http://www.nizentempire.co.za

Yes! I am Money Music Records former Kayo Record.
